These needles are made for sewing hard, thick or heavy materials.  They will sew through multiple ply applications like quilting, jeans, appliqué or heavy embroidery.  It is actually an industrial needle with a flat shank.  If you are bending or breaking regular needles (15x1’s)  this needle could solve your problem. 
These hard chrome needles will outlast a standard regular (15x1's) and the ttitanium needles are even more wear-resistant. 
They are available in either sharp or ball point with a hard chrome or titanium finish.

The Titanium coating on the needle gives the needle a smoothness and better durability.  If you do lots of sewing - try the titanium coated needles.  They will last longer.

The Titanium coating on these needles does not mean they are harder than ordinary needles.  If you break a needle it will not damage your machine any more than a regular needle.  This is a Titanium COATED needle, not a titanium needle.
