From the Warm Company comes Insul~Bright, a needle-punched, polyester, insulating material ideal for home sewers and crafters.

Pot holders, oven mitts, and casserole covers are all popular projects made functional and safe with Insul~Bright.

Insul~Bright consists of hollow, polyester fibers needlepunched through a nonwoven substraight and though a reflective, metallized, poly material.
The needled material is breathable and won't break down with washing. The hollow fibers resist conduction while the reflective, metallized, poly material resists radiant energy. The energy, hot or cold, is reflected back to its source.

This product is ideal for oven gloves etc but you must also use a layer (or 2) of cotton, wool or bamboo batting.  It does not stop the heat coming through.

An ideal application is 1 layer of fabric, 1 of Insul-bright, 1 of batting, 1 of Therma Flec.  The best oven gloves around!

This fabric is scorch-proof to 198 C.

End uses include hot pads, BBQ and cooking mitts, ironing board covers, costumes and crafts.

You will still need to use a batting with this item as it will not stop heat transfer, It does stop scorching and would be used on the side of the glove that touches the hot item.
